AJ Patel is the visionary behind TiE Nairobi — it was his idea to bring the TiE Global network to East Africa. A seasoned entrepreneur and TiE Global stalwart, AJ has been instrumental in shaping the chapter's founding philosophy and connecting Nairobi's entrepreneurial ecosystem to the wider TiE world. His vision of fostering entrepreneurship in Africa laid the foundation for what TiE Nairobi is today.
Vimal Shah co-founded Bidco Africa with his father and brother in 1985, growing it from a soap-manufacturing venture into an FMCG group with over 60 brands across 18 African countries. He now focuses on strategy as board chairman and has been honoured with Kenya's Order of the Burning Spear.
Vishal Agarwal served as the first President of TiE Africa, playing a pivotal role in establishing the TiE presence across the African continent. His leadership during the formative years helped define the strategic direction of TiE Africa and set the stage for TiE Nairobi's launch. He continues to serve as a trusted advisor and mentor to the chapter.
